V Profile Mesh Fencing

Integrated Fencing were contacted by Glynneath RFC for advice on a system at the rugby club. A meeting was arranged at the club to ascertain the issues they were experiencing and how we could assist them.

The consultation was initiated by Simon Knoyle QS SAK Ltd who is also Secretary of the rugby club and a respected local Councillor.

Simon met with Hywel Davies and explained the issue of dogs accessing the club area and fouling on the pitch.

An article published by the BBC stated that; as well as being filthy, dog mess is also unhygienic and a health hazard. The danger caused by dog mess is greatly increased because dogs are most likely to be walked and therefore to also foul in areas where the general public, and in particular children, walk and play, such as in parks, on pavements and roadways, on footpaths, playing fields, on beaches and in town and city centres. Dog mess can lead to Parvo, which is a potentially fatal disease which is transferred between dogs, but the key health issue with dog faeces is that it can lead to toxocariasis in humans.

Glynneath RFC are a Welsh Division 1 team with an excellent junior rugby set up with ages starting at under 6 up to youth.

Unless this issue was addressed explained Simon games simply could not go ahead.

Our meeting and survey discovered that dogs could access on two out of the four sides of the pitch. The far side of the pitch is a lane that runs behind houses meaning dogs can easily be let out of a rear garden and straight onto the pitch.

Our solution for this was to supply and install a continuous elevation of 170 linear metres of 1.8m high V Profile Mesh fencing to prevent any unauthorised access to the general public and, also to prevent dogs from entering the area.

We also supplied and installed a single leaf gate to match the fencing so that stewards can retrieve stray balls on match days.

The club side of the pitch was also totally open meaning easy access for dogs entering the pitch area. Our solution for this was to supply and install our Pedestrian Spectator Rail which is a great system, it has a continuous top tubular rail for spectators to comfortably lean on whilst watching a game.

The bottom of the system has a robust 868 Duo mesh which is fixed to the posts using security fixings, this will prevent dogs and toddlers entering the pitch.

Secretary, Simon Knoyle said ‘we are thrilled with the professionalism of Integrated Fencing and the high standard of work that they have undertaken. We did add variations throughout the works including a timber refuse area so that our waste and recycling are not seen by members of the public, and some timber knee rail to prevent vehicles coming in contact with supporters.’

‘Integrated Fencing are thankful for the opportunity to work with Glynneath RFC and the response from supporters has been amazing! We have also agreed to sponsor the rugby club for some key matches during the coming season’ said Hywel Davies.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY

Morgan Sindall have undertaken a number of contracts where Integrated Fencing, have been appointed to deliver security fencing, gates and hoarding works to our sites. We have always found them to be helpful throughout the project phases, whether this be the early stages tenders, through on-going design development and right up to completion and handover. The whole ethos of all Integrated Fencing staff aligns closely with our values as a business and as such, Integrated Fencing have recently been awarded our Sub-Contractor of the Year Award for 2020 for their consistent high performance. We would have no issues in recommending Integrated Fencing to anyone that is looking for first-class fencing contractor.   2021

Integrated Fencing the successful contractor, their tender was within budget and we were fully aware of their experience in the fencing industry and their pro-active approach.

Their directors visited the site to attend meetings to help us with the design of the system which was first class.
We would highly recommend We look forward to working with them on future projects
.

It did not go unnoticed that you were put in a very difficult predicament by the failings of our ground works contractor but despite this, you and your team stuck at it working late nights and weekends to help us achieve the completion date. It’s very rare to see a Managing Director rolling his sleeves up to help his team out but you did this on numerous occasions in atrocious weather conditions and on weekends and for this we cannot thank you enough.

This leads me on to your site team who worked extremely close with our site team for the duration of the project and despite the extreme weather and ground conditions they simply got on with it. They’re attitude and willingness to complete the job in hand is fantastic, this together with the standard of work produced all makes for a winning team.

I have worked with numerous quality men over the last 30 years, and this has to be up there as one of the best. Please pass on our thanks to your team. Thanks again for your efforts on the project and we wish you every success in the future and hope your business grows. It has been a pleasure working with you on YGGT and we look forward to the prospect of working with you in the near future.
