SLIDING GATES FROM INTEGRATED FENCING

Sliding gates can be used in areas where space is limited at the entrance way being secured. Operation and installation is relatively straight forward which reduces the level of disruption and the cost.

TYPES OF SLIDING GATES

TRACK SLIDING GATES

Tracked gates work within a ground track installed across the entrance and run back area. The gate leaf is fitted with wheels that run within the ground track and a Y shaped base that acts as a driver for the sliding mechanism.

Ideally the tracked sliding gate system needs solid base for installation of the tracks. They need to be level and with a stable foundation to avoid distortion and ensure smooth running of the system. This also minimises the amount of debris that can fall into the track to hinder the sliding process.

BENEFITS OF TRACKED GATES
• Easy installation
• Strong curb appeal
• Simple to motorise
• Space saving
• A single leaf can cover a wide entrance

CANTILEVER SLIDING GATES

Unlike track gates, cantilever gates are ideal for rough uneven and loose surfaces. Approximately 1/3 longer, the extra length acts as a counterbalance that allows the gate to slide forwards and backwards whilst maintaining stability. Because the gate is not running along a track and therefore has little impedance, opening and closing is much smoother.

BENEFITS OF CANTILEVER GATES
• Quicker installation
• Suitable for uneven road surfaces
• No track installation across the actual opening
• Smooth and quiet operation
• Lower Maintenance

TELESCOPIC SLIDING GATES

Telescopic gates are great for creating the widest possible span for traffic to pass through. One section slides back across the other during the closing process In the closed position, one piece sits slightly farther back on a guide rail that only extends halfway into the opening. The other section runs along a rail that spans the entire opening. When you open a telescopic sliding gate, one half will slide in front of the other, following the longer rail.

BENEFITS OF TELESCOPIC SLIDING GATES
• Overcomes issues with a side sloping entranceway
• Aesthetically pleasing look
• Maximise passing space in smaller openings
• Robustly constructed for high-security
• Durable and weather resistant materials

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on the type and the size of sliding gate, they can range anywhere from £500 to £4000.

The key difference is that a cantilever gate is a trackless gate system. Instead of sliding along a track, a cantilever gate is supported by rollers that are tucked behind the fencing and remains suspended when opening and closing.

Telescopic sliding gates or dual sliding gates are sliding gates in 2 sections sliding in the same direction at the same time, they are twice as fast as normal sliding gates and require, just a little over, half the space that a single sliding gate needs to open.

The main difference between the two is that sliding gates slide in and out whilst swinging gates swing open and closed in a wide half-circle. Most used when other gate installations aren’t possible, sliding gates are great if you have limited space and rough ground.

A cantilevered sliding gate or cantilever gate operates by using an extended section of the gate to counterbalance the actual gate which spans the road access. The cantilever gate is suspended and therefore doesn’t need a track below it to run along.

Sliding gates are very reliable and have long trouble-free lifespans. Since sliding gates run on tracks the can be installed with cantilever systems. This makes them more suitable for rough ground and sloping driveways.

Due to their straightforward construction, Swing gates generally cost less than sliding gates. However, this depends on the size, style, and material of the gate in question.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY

Morgan Sindall have undertaken a number of contracts where Integrated Fencing, have been appointed to deliver security fencing, gates and hoarding works to our sites. We have always found them to be helpful throughout the project phases, whether this be the early stages tenders, through on-going design development and right up to completion and handover. The whole ethos of all Integrated Fencing staff aligns closely with our values as a business and as such, Integrated Fencing have recently been awarded our Sub-Contractor of the Year Award for 2020 for their consistent high performance. We would have no issues in recommending Integrated Fencing to anyone that is looking for first-class fencing contractor.   2021

Integrated Fencing the successful contractor, their tender was within budget and we were fully aware of their experience in the fencing industry and their pro-active approach.

Their directors visited the site to attend meetings to help us with the design of the system which was first class.
We would highly recommend We look forward to working with them on future projects
.

It did not go unnoticed that you were put in a very difficult predicament by the failings of our ground works contractor but despite this, you and your team stuck at it working late nights and weekends to help us achieve the completion date. It’s very rare to see a Managing Director rolling his sleeves up to help his team out but you did this on numerous occasions in atrocious weather conditions and on weekends and for this we cannot thank you enough.

This leads me on to your site team who worked extremely close with our site team for the duration of the project and despite the extreme weather and ground conditions they simply got on with it. They’re attitude and willingness to complete the job in hand is fantastic, this together with the standard of work produced all makes for a winning team.

I have worked with numerous quality men over the last 30 years, and this has to be up there as one of the best. Please pass on our thanks to your team. Thanks again for your efforts on the project and we wish you every success in the future and hope your business grows. It has been a pleasure working with you on YGGT and we look forward to the prospect of working with you in the near future.
