Frequently Asked Questions
The construction of a swing gate is only limited by the strength of the opening system. Hydraulic systems mean that the gate can be of almost any size and weight. High-security gates can be constructed from heavy duty steel and present no problem. At the same time, where the gate is intended simply as an entry barrier, lighter alloys would be perfectly acceptable.
2. Low Maintenance
Swing gates are typically robustly constructed and therefore require little in the way of maintenance outside of the mandatory servicing requirements. In damp, cold or even extremely hot climates this means that much of the initial outlay can be recouped by a reduction in ongoing maintenance costs.
3. Efficiency
In areas of high traffic or footfall the automated characteristics of a swing gate mean that entry and exit can be controlled with maximum efficiency. Particularly relevant in places like airports and subway stations where the gate may be required to open and close hundreds or perhaps even thousands of times in a single day.
Car parking facilities that are open to authorised or paying users only, often use swing gates with some type of swing gate operator to grant access.
2. Industry and Commerce
Industrial and commercial settings like factories, warehouses and distribution centres are principal markets for swing gates. Controlling and authorising access is a key factor in maintaining security. Easy access for staff and delivery drivers is desirable whilst unauthorised access is not.
3. Secure Environments
Military facilities, sensitive sites, prison facilities and even some hospitals need to maintain a highly secure environment. Smart swing gates can provide both the security and the level of automation that saves time and as a result, reduce overheads.
4. Private Homes
Larger privates homes and big estates with secure perimeters can benefit from the automation and additional security and convenience that a swing gate provides.
