MORE ABOUT TIMBER PLAY-SAFE PALISADE

Construction: Our Play-Safe Timber Fencing is very popular in residential, education, and playground settings. Palisade fencing is constructed from 2 horizontal running rails that support upright infill sections separated by gaps of a specified width. It can be constructed from metal or timber but for the purposes of safety in children’s play areas, timber construction is used in the main.

Fixing: At Integrated Fencing we are able to offer any of our systems with base plated posts to bolt to a suitable foundation. We can also bury the posts in the concrete foundations. Posts with a wider profile for greater strength are often specified for local authority and public projects.

Materials: All of our timber is homegrown in the UK and is pressure-treated green or brown but you can specify different colours for the system if required. Play areas for children often feature bright and vibrant fencing colour schemes. We can supply the system at heights between 0.9m and 1.2m.

Integrated fencing believes that timber is the best material for playground equipment. The timber we use offers a bespoke feel and extensive play value. All timber that we use for our equipment are sources to ensure superior stability and unbeatable durability.

Wood is a friendly, pleasant material. As an organic building material, it differs quite a bit from metal or plastic as it appeals to your senses, from its touch to its smell.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR PLAY-SAFE TIMBER FENCING

  • Careful design that eliminates any possibility that a child might become entrapped in any part of the fencing or gate system
  • Designation of an enclosed area as a safe play space for children.
  • Secure fixing of proprietary caps and edgings
  • No sharp or projected elements that represent a risk of injury
  • The normal specification is a minimum 1 metre high for public play areas
  • Use of robust materials and tamper-proof fittings that not only anticipate the possibility of vandalism but also provide long life with minimal maintenance
  • Gates and access considerations; for example, sprung hinges that self-close the gates to prevent dogs and other animals from gaining access to play areas.

Palisade fencing will help to secure your playground and finishes off any timber play area or playground. Integrated Fencing produces them at 1m and 1.2m heights with standard, soft close and maintenance gate options available.

Generally, 1.2m high Palisades and below require 2 rails. 1.35m to 1.8m high Palisades need 3 rails.

For young children, Integrated Fencing advise using round tops and closer spacing which will help to prevent them from climbing the fence. This is the safest option. However, a capping rail can be fitted over flat palisades and the posts can have routered edges if required.

Integrated Fencing the successful contractor, their tender was within budget and we were fully aware of their experience in the fencing industry and their pro-active approach.

Their directors visited the site to attend meetings to help us with the design of the system which was first class.
We would highly recommend We look forward to working with them on future projects
.

It did not go unnoticed that you were put in a very difficult predicament by the failings of our ground works contractor but despite this, you and your team stuck at it working late nights and weekends to help us achieve the completion date. It’s very rare to see a Managing Director rolling his sleeves up to help his team out but you did this on numerous occasions in atrocious weather conditions and on weekends and for this we cannot thank you enough.

This leads me on to your site team who worked extremely close with our site team for the duration of the project and despite the extreme weather and ground conditions they simply got on with it. They’re attitude and willingness to complete the job in hand is fantastic, this together with the standard of work produced all makes for a winning team.

I have worked with numerous quality men over the last 30 years, and this has to be up there as one of the best. Please pass on our thanks to your team. Thanks again for your efforts on the project and we wish you every success in the future and hope your business grows. It has been a pleasure working with you on YGGT and we look forward to the prospect of working with you in the near future.
